Roads

Lewis County has access to major highways travelling both North South and East West.

Major 4-Lane Highways:

I-79 - runs North to South from Erie, PA to Charleston, W.Va., through the center of Lewis County

U.S. 33 - runs west to east through the center of Lewis County and is known in West Virginia as Corridor H

 

Major 2-Lane Highways:

U.S. 19 - runs North to South through the county

WV 4 - runs North to South from Rock Cave, WV to Clendenin, W.Va., through the southern part of Lewis County

 

Rail

Two railroad companies operate in the southern part of the county. The railways are mostly used for coal transportation but both companies also service logs, lumber, and chemicals.
